The history and background of The Goose Barn is simple. Having a 3
year old and having worked for a numbers of years before his birth, I thought
it would be fun to just start a small business out of my home as a creative
outlet and provide me with some "mad money". But, like many things that start
out simple, things grew and grew and grew and after many changes, phases and
adjustments we now have 9 years under our belt at the barn.
I had done home stamp parties, in addition to sewing and selling outfits for the (cement) Guard Geese
for over 2 years, and decided that I needed a place "to land"; besides my van was
fast being outgrown by the inventory that I hauled to those stamp parties.

We opened the barn in 1990 with a handful of stamps, ink pads, markers and
embossing powders. Parties were done there in the barn and people then knew
where they could come for more "stuff".
Originally, my hours were, "When I'm
home, I'm open." Well, a few knocks at the door at 7:00 in the morning and
11:00 at night soon led me to establish regular hours. Shortly there after, my first employee graced
our door, which freed me up to run the business, while still allowing me to be a home-school Mom.
As time marched on, as it proverbially does, we have literally filled the barn from floor to ceiling and
in every nook and cranny. You can never see it all in one trip. It's a place you want to return, time and time again.
We are a little off the beaten path, but well worth a visit. We will look
forward to seeing you ......at the barn.
Thanks for visiting our website. We look forward to serving you in any
way we can.
